This is probably Maya’s favorite breakfast and she has this almost every morning. I use the combination of two bananas and one cup of blueberries but you can change this ratio. I really enjoy making this because it makes a beautiful color and it’s delicious. Sometimes I steal a spoonful.

I like to use organic blueberries since these are one of the fruits that have the highest levels of pesticides.

1. If the blueberries aren’t very ripe you should steam first until skin starts to slightly break apart. Usually takes a few minutes, maybe a bit longer if you are using frozen blueberries.  This makes it easier for them to digest the skin.

2. Add to the bananas and puree. You could also just mash them both together depending on how well your baby can chew or mush the food in their mouth.

3. Optional: add some water or formula/breast milk to reach your desired consistency.

You can serve slightly warm or chilled. Maya will eat it either way. Sometimes we mix it into a bit of oatmeal.
